Gender( लिंग): The Noun which denotes male or female sex is called Gender.
Ex - Horse
Boy
Father
Bull
Son
These all are denote male sex.
Wife
Woman
Niece
Daughter
These all are denote female sex.
Types of Gender
There are four types of Gender in English Grammar
1. Masculine Gender: The Noun which denotes male sex is called Masculine Gender.
(जो Noun पुरुष के लिंग को दर्शाता है उसे Masculine Gender कहा जाता है।)
Ex- Boy , Father, uncle, gentleman etc.
2. Feminine Gender: The Noun which denotes female sex is called Feminne Gender.
जो Noun महिला की लिंग को दर्शाता है उसे Feminine Gender कहा जाता है।
Ex- Girl, Wife , mother, grand mother etc.
Masculine Gender से feminine Gender बनाने के लिए कछु suffix word जोड़कर Feminine बनाया जाता है
जैसे - lord-man - Lord-lady
Masculine में ess जोड़कर Feminine बनाया जाता है।
Ex- actor- Acteress
3. Common Gender: The noun that does not talk about male or female but only indicate that it is a living thing.
वैसा Noun जो पुरुष या महिला के बारे में बात नहीं करती है लेकिन केवल संकेत देती है कि यह एक जीवित चीज( living thing) है।
Ex- Baby, Doctor, Teacher, students, professor etc.
4. Neuter Gender: The Noun Which denotes non-living object with life, is called Neuter Gender.
Tables, Pen, books wood, etc
Note-
1. Masculine Gender के लिए He Pronoun का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
2. Feminine Gender के लिए She Pronoun का प्रयोग किया जाता है
3. Common Gender के लिए भी He Pronoun का प्रयोग किया जाता है क्यों की इसमें Gender Confirm नहीं होता है की Female के बारे में बात हो रही है या Male
Ex- someone is knocking.
Dog is barking.
The teacher is taking class in room no 8
4.Common Gender के लिए it pronoun के का प्रयोग किया जा सकता हैं।
Some important Cases :
कुछ ऐसे nouns है जिनका प्रयोग अगर अच्छे (sense ) के लिए प्रयोग होता है यानी सुंदरता (beauty), कोमलता, सज्जनता( gentleness) तब उसको Feminine Gender माना जाता है तथा इसके साथ singular pronoun - she , her , hers , herself का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Ex- The moon 🌒 , The earth, Nature, flattery, spring, river, faith, ship, jealousy, pride, justice, truth, nation, virtue , city etc.
1. The moon shed her light on the bank. (√ )
The moon shed its light on the bank (× )
Lady का प्रयोग sex को denote करने के लिए नहीं होता है लेकिन woman का प्रयोग sex को denote करने के लिए होता है
Woman - doctor Lady doctor
Woman - teacher Lady teacher
Woman - driver Lady driver
Woman - servant Lady servant
सामाजिक कार्यों के आधार पर इन सभी Nouns का प्रयोग Mascluline gender में होता है।

Types of Gender
