Letter from Word- Word from Sentence- Sentence from- Paragraphs from A article.

 हम जानते है की letter से मिलाकर एक word बनता है। और Word से मिलकर एक paragraph का निर्माण होता है और कई paragraph मिलकर के एक Article( अनुच्छेद/ निबंध)
का निर्माण करते है।
और ये सब के मिलने से उनके कार्य के आधार( base) पर  parts of speech का निर्माण होता है।




Types of Parts of Speech

Parts of speech के 8 प्रकार होते है लेकिन  ध्यान रहे modern English grammar के  अनुसार अब ये 9 प्रकार के होते है।


1. Noun
2. Pronoun
3. Adjective
4. Verb
5. Adverb
6. Proposition
7. Conjunction
8. Interjection
9. Article / Determiners
 ( Article / Determiners
 को भी अब parts of speech के अन्तर्गत  रखा गया है जो पहले नहीं था।)

अब हम एक एक कर के सभी के बारे में पढ़ेंगे  तो चलिए start करते है Noun  से

तो सबसे पहले हमलोग Noun  का  पहचान ( Identification) के बारे में जानेंगे ।

 SOME RULES OF IDENTIFICATION OF NOUN

1. words ending with- tion, ance ,ence, ar, or, ism, ice, Our, tute, ment, y, act ,th, ness , ity, hood , age.

Ex- Corruption, Emotion, Foundation,

Importance, Brilliance, ,

Confidence, Deligence, Confidence


socialism, realism,

Advice, practice, price,

Substitute, institute



2. After an adjective
good girl.
Beautiful flowers
Intelligent mind.
honest person.

3. After an article
She has a pen.
That is a good book.
There are five Lata's in my Classroom

4. Some , a lot of , many , much , or , any Digits.

Some children,  a lot of books , many pens.

5. Apostrophe 's

Madan's brother
Rohan's car
Mobile's sound
Cow's tail

6. words which refers collection of thing
Ex- pride, teams, band, Gang.

Noun is derived form of nomen

Types of noun

According to use - There are five types of noun.

1. Proper Noun
2. Common Noun
3. Material Noun
4. Collective Noun
5. Concrete & Abstract Noun


According to number(Origin)- There are three types of noun.

1. Countable Noun
2. Uncountable Noun
3. Countless Noun


 1.Proper Noun- The name of Particular or specific person, Place or thing.

Ex-Irphan Khan, Devdas, jack , Mumbai, Tajmahal, Holi , Diwali etc.

 The first letter of proper noun is always represented by a capital letter.
Proper noun का पहला letter को हमेशा capital letter  से लिखा जाता है।
Ex Ram , Raj , Tajmahal, Patna, Ritika , Kolkata etc.

Note- (i)  Article a, an and the is not used before proper noun.

(ii)- Proper noun sometimes used as common noun.

Ex- Kalidas is often called Shakespeare ( the greatest dramatist of India.



2.Common Noun-  A common noun is the name of common person, Place or thing.

Ex- Boy, Girl, Doctor, teacher, Book, Table , Pen,
Dog, River etc.


Boy is a common noun but jack is a Proper Noun.
Girl is a common noun but Riya is a Proper Noun.
City is a common noun but Mumbai is a proper Noun.
Festival is a common noun but Holi is a proper noun.
Country is a common noun but India is a proper noun.




3. Collective Noun- The Noun which denotes a group of persons or other creatures and collection of things.

Ex- Gang, Team, Class, Flock, Committee etc.

4. Material Noun- The Noun which can measured and weighted  but not counted.

Ex- Butter , Water, Oil, Iron, Breakfast, Paper, Curd etc.

5.Abstract Noun- The Noun which cannot be seen or touch but that can be felt.

Honesty, Poverty, Bravery, Love, pain, running,

Note-(I) जितनी भी क्रियाएँ ( Action)  हैं वे Abstract Noun हैं।
जैसे - walking, Running, singing, eating etc.

(ii)-  जितनी भी भाषाएँ है वे सभी abstract noun  है।
जैसे - Hindi, English, French, Russian etc.

(iii)  जितनी भी बीमारियाँ( Disease) हैं , वे भी abstract noun  होती है।
जैसे - Cancer, jaundice,  AIDS, Headache etc.



1.Countable Noun- the noun that can be counted.
वैसा noun  जिसे count किया जा सकता है।
Pens, books, People, Bananas,


2. Uncountable  Noun - The noun that cannot be counted.
वैसा noun जिसे count  नहीं किया जा सकता।

Ex-  Water , Flour, Milk , oil, Iron etc.

3.Countless Noun-  The noun that can be counted but it will be useless to be count.
वैसा noun जिसे count तो किया जा सकता है लेकिन ऐसा करने का कोई मतलब नहीं होगा।
Hair, star,

Uncountable noun के अन्तर्गत Material and Abstract Noun  आते हैं तथा इनका Singular or plural form नहीं होता है।

जैसे - water का  Plural  waters  नहीं होता है।

Waters( समुंद्र) होता है।
